Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath highlighted the transformative development witnessed in Ayodhya over the past ten years, linking the city's economic growth to the expansion of the Deepotsav festival celebrations. Speaking at the Aaj Tak Panchayat event, he drew a direct correlation between the increasing grandeur of the festival and the rising prosperity of Uttar Pradesh.
Adityanath underscored that Ayodhya remains fundamentally a city of faith rather than a space for political contestation. He stressed that the city's identity is rooted in devotion and spiritual significance, warning that those who attempt to exploit the sentiments of Ram devotees for political gain will find no foothold in the sacred city.
The remarks represent the Chief Minister's continued emphasis on distinguishing between Ayodhya's religious and cultural importance and its political dimensions. His comments come as Ayodhya continues to experience significant infrastructure development and tourism growth, with the Deepotsav festival drawing increasing participation from devotees across India and abroad.
The annual Deepotsav, celebrated with elaborate illuminations and cultural programs, has emerged as a signature event for the state, coinciding with Diwali festivities and attracting considerable media attention and visitor footfall to the historically significant city.
