Uttar Pradesh CM directs crackdown on illegal land occupation

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has issued formal directions to state officials mandating strict legal action against individuals and groups engaged in unlawful land occupation and property seizure. The order specifically targets cases involving dispossession of economically weaker sections and marginalized communities.

According to the directive, administrative and law enforcement agencies must pursue vigorous prosecution of encroachment cases while simultaneously promoting mediated resolution of familial property disputes through dialogue and counseling. Officials have been instructed to prioritize conciliation mechanisms where applicable to prevent protracted legal conflicts within families.

The Chief Minister has also prioritized victim assistance, directing prompt government intervention to facilitate access to welfare schemes, medical treatment, and legal remedies for persons affected by land-related crimes. State authorities have been tasked with establishing expedited grievance redressal mechanisms to address complaints from displaced or dispossessed citizens.

The move reflects the state government's stated commitment to property rights protection while maintaining a balanced approach that encourages settlement of domestic property disputes outside courts where feasible.
