Uttar Pradesh CM touts transparent recruitment drive, assails previous governments

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday distributed appointment letters to newly selected candidates across the Ayush, medical health, and micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) sectors during a large-scale event held under the state's 'Mission Employment' programme.

Addressing the newly selected youth, Adityanath commended their selection and emphasized that candidates in Uttar Pradesh are now securing employment based on merit through transparent and impartial processes. The Chief Minister highlighted this as a marked departure from previous recruitment practices in the state.

Adityanath launched a sharp attack on predecessor governments, asserting that prior to 2017, recruitment processes in Uttar Pradesh were plagued by widespread corruption, communal disturbances, and nepotism. These practices, he contended, had severely compromised the career prospects of young professionals seeking government positions.

The Chief Minister's remarks underscore the state government's push to position itself as having reformed the hiring mechanisms that candidates and observers had previously criticized. The appointment drive forms part of the BJP-led government's broader employment generation agenda in the state.
