The Uttar Pradesh administration has received clearance to proceed with the comprehensive rejuvenation and integrated development of Gomti Udgam Sthal, located in Pilibhit district. The project aims to restore and enhance the ecological and infrastructural conditions at the source of the Gomti River, one of the state's significant waterways.

According to the project framework, the construction phase will be completed within 24 months, excluding the bidding and procurement process. Following successful completion of the build phase, a dedicated five-year operation and maintenance period has been allocated to ensure the sustainability and proper upkeep of all developed infrastructure.

The initiative is expected to address environmental concerns at the river's source while improving accessibility and public amenities in the region. By focusing on both restoration and sustainable management, the project seeks to set a model for integrated river-basin development in the state.

The approval represents a significant step toward the state's broader river conservation agenda, which has emphasized the importance of preserving and rehabilitating key water sources across Uttar Pradesh.
