Uttar Pradesh scales up processed food exports to global markets

Uttar Pradesh is positioning itself as a significant player in India's processed food export landscape, with the state government actively supporting producers to tap international markets. The expansion reflects a sustained effort to diversify the state's agricultural economy beyond raw commodity exports.

Projected shipments for the financial year 2025-26 are valued at ₹1,132 crore, underscoring growing momentum in the sector. This growth trajectory demonstrates increasing demand for Indian processed food products globally, with Uttar Pradesh gaining a larger share of these opportunities.

A key achievement has been the geographic spread of export-oriented processing operations. Exporters are now operational across all 75 districts of the state, suggesting the government's development strategy is reaching beyond traditional commercial hubs. This pan-state distribution indicates efforts to decentralize food processing infrastructure and create export opportunities in rural and semi-urban areas.

The state's focus on processed foods aligns with broader national initiatives to increase agricultural value addition and boost exports.
