Uttar Pradesh transformed into growth engine, says CM Yogi Adityanath

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday presented his government's performance report while asserting that Uttar Pradesh has undergone a significant transformation from its earlier perception as a backward state to becoming an economic growth engine for India.

Addressing the Panchayat Aaj Tak event in Mathura, Adityanath launched a sharp critique of the opposition Samajwadi Party, claiming that his administration has successfully reversed the state's developmental trajectory. He contended that Uttar Pradesh no longer carries the stigma of being a troubled or poorly-governed region.

The chief minister expressed confidence that voters would return his government to power with an even larger mandate in the 2027 state assembly elections, enabling the continuation of what he termed the "double engine" governance model—a reference to simultaneous rule by his party at the state and central levels.

Adityanath's remarks came as part of a broader effort to showcase his government's administrative record and development initiatives ahead of the forthcoming electoral cycle. The comments reflected the government's key messaging strategy centered on development achievements and economic progress.
