Uttarakhand's voter roll shrinks by over 10% following special revision
Uttarakhand's electoral register has contracted significantly following a special inclusive revision (SIR) process, with the final voter list settling at 7.16 million electors. The reduction reflects a major correction to the state's electoral base.

The final electoral roll for Uttarakhand now comprises 7.16 million registered voters, marking a substantial decline of more than 10% from previous figures, election officials confirmed following the completion of the special inclusive revision process. The revision saw 129,872 new names added to the voter register while 104,708 entries were removed during the claims and objections period, resulting in a net increase of 25,164 electors on the final roll. The special revision process, which allows for correction and updating of electoral registers, involved a systematic review of voter data across the state. The significant reduction in the overall voter base suggests the previous electoral roll contained a considerable number of ineligible or duplicate entries. The updated register will serve as the official voter list for future electoral exercises in the state, with the final figures now officially recorded by the election administration.
