Uttarkashi man seeks return from Saudi Arabia after eight years

Indramani Nautiyal, a resident of Uttarkashi district in Uttarakhand, has remained unable to return to India for approximately eight years due to legal complications in Saudi Arabia, according to family sources. The primary obstacle to his return is a debt-related case involving an outstanding amount of approximately 2.29 crore rupees, which has kept him legally bound to the Gulf nation. Nautiyal's family has launched efforts to resolve the financial liability that has prevented his departure. So far, the campaign to secure his release has managed to accumulate approximately 1.80 crore rupees, leaving a substantial shortfall to meet the outstanding obligations. The family continues to seek additional support to bridge the remaining gap and facilitate Nautiyal's return to his home state. Cases of Indian nationals becoming stranded in Middle Eastern countries due to legal and financial disputes have raised concerns about the challenges faced by migrant workers in the region.
