Most Rev. Crispin Barrete Varquez, D.D., will be formally installed as the eighth bishop of the Diocese of Tagbilaran on October 27, according to diocesan officials. The canonical possession and solemn installation ceremony will take place at 9 a.m. at the St. Joseph the Worker Cathedral Shrine-Parish in Tagbilaran City.

Varquez brings nearly two decades of episcopal experience to his new position, having previously served as bishop of Borongan. His appointment to lead the Tagbilaran diocese represents a change in ecclesiastical leadership for the jurisdiction, which covers portions of Bohol.

The installation ceremony will formalize Varquez's assumption of pastoral duties and jurisdictional responsibilities within the diocese. The event is expected to draw clergy, religious representatives, and lay faithful from across the diocese and neighboring jurisdictions.
