Vehicle licence issuance halted in eight provinces temporarily

Vehicle revenue licence issuance through the Electronic Revenue Licensing (eRL 2.0) System has been temporarily suspended across eight provinces, according to regulatory authorities. The suspension leaves only a limited number of provinces operating the digital licensing platform during the interim period.
The eRL 2.0 System, which streamlined vehicle licence applications and renewals through an electronic platform, will remain operational in select provinces while the suspension takes effect elsewhere. Vehicle owners in affected provinces seeking to issue or renew their revenue licences will need to await the resumption of services or explore alternative arrangements during the suspension period.
Authorities have not disclosed a specific timeline for when services will resume in the suspended provinces. Vehicle owners are advised to check with their provincial transport authorities for updated information regarding licence issuance procedures and any interim measures that may be in place.
The Electronic Revenue Licensing System was previously implemented to reduce processing times and improve efficiency in vehicle registration and licensing across the island. The temporary suspension marks a setback for the digitalization initiative in the affected provinces.
