Vi extends free global roaming to select plan subscribers
Vodafone Idea has rolled out complimentary international roaming benefits for eligible customers across select plans, enabling them to maintain their Vi number while travelling abroad. The offer extends to customers making up to three international trips annually.

The telecom operator said subscribers on qualifying plans can now access free roaming services during their overseas travel without changing their existing mobile number. The initiative aims to provide seamless connectivity for frequent international travellers while keeping their domestic Vi number active.
Eligible customers can avail of the roaming benefits through select plans and by using the Vi App, which streamlines the activation and management of international roaming services. The operator has positioned the offering as part of its customer retention strategy in a competitive telecom market.
The free global roaming facility is available for customers undertaking international travel up to three times within a specified period, according to the announcement. Subscribers can manage their roaming preferences and track usage through the Vi App interface.
The move reflects growing competition among Indian telecom operators to retain customers by bundling value-added services with existing plans. Industry analysts expect similar offerings from competing carriers as operators seek to differentiate their services in the increasingly crowded Indian mobile market.
