Victim's Rental Home Purified With Ganges Water in Meerut Murder Case

Mira Rathod, a relative of Saurabh, the victim in Meerut's widely-reported blue drum homicide, arrived in the city from Agra on Sunday to conduct a purification ceremony at the rental residence where the crime took place. Using water from the Ganges river, Rathod performed the ritual cleansing at the property, simultaneously announcing her intention to bear the costs associated with the rite.

During the ceremony, Rathod demanded expedited capital punishment for the two accused in the case, identified as Muskan and Sahil. Her call for swift justice reflects the victim's family's frustration with the pace of legal proceedings in the high-profile murder case that has drawn significant public attention across the region.

Saurabh's mother, Renu Devi, also used the occasion to press for urgent hearings on the appeals filed by the accused. The family's continued activism underscores the emotional toll the crime has had on relatives and their determination to see the case resolved with maximum severity under law.
