Video of Naidu controlling crowd at Sitharaman event sparks political row

A video clip from Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman's recent address in Madanapalle has become the subject of intense political controversy, with the Congress and ruling NDA offering contradictory accounts of what it shows.

the opposition Congress party, through senior leader Jairam Ramesh, circulated the October 2 footage claiming it demonstrated public anger at the event. According to Congress's interpretation, the crowd's displeasure forced Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu to intervene and silence the attendees.

However, Naidu, Sitharaman, TDP leader Lokesh, and BJP representatives have rejected this narrative. They contend the video simply captures the enthusiasm of party workers at the rally, and that Naidu was managing the crowd's excitement during the Finance Minister's speech—a routine occurrence at such political gatherings.

The competing narratives reflect the broader political tensions ahead of upcoming electoral cycles in the region, with each side using the footage to reinforce its messaging about public sentiment and ground-level support.
