Deputy Prime Minister Ho Quoc Dung, who serves as deputy head of the Central Steering Committee overseeing the 2026-2035 national target programme, chaired a conference focused on accelerating the rollout of the multibillion-dollar initiative.
The programme addresses cultural and social development across rural areas and ethnic minority and mountainous regions. Officials emphasized the need to deliver tangible improvements and achieve substantive results through a systematic approach that clearly delineates policies, target areas and intended beneficiaries.
The National Assembly previously approved the 30.7 billion USD programme, which represents a significant commitment to addressing development disparities across Vietnam's diverse regions. The government has made full disbursement of allocated funds in 2026 a priority, signaling its determination to accelerate implementation.
Institutional reforms introduced in recent months are expected to help streamline programme execution and reduce administrative bottlenecks. Officials stressed the importance of coordinating efforts across central and local levels to ensure funds reach intended recipients and generate measurable development outcomes.
