Vietnam accelerates multi-sector international integration strategy

Vietnam is advancing a broad-based international integration strategy spanning multiple sectors, with recent diplomatic and institutional activities demonstrating concrete progress across political, economic, security and cultural fronts. Officials are working to align external partnerships with the country's domestic construction, development and defence objectives, creating synergies between international engagement and national priorities.

The Deputy Foreign Minister highlighted APEC 2027 as a significant opportunity for Vietnam to strengthen its integration workforce and enhance capacity in key economic sectors. Concurrent with these political initiatives, Vietnamese enterprises are being urged to bolster their competitiveness as ASEAN pursues deeper digital integration, recognizing that private sector readiness is essential to capitalizing on regional economic opportunities.

The Vietnam Maritime Forum 2026, which concluded in Hanoi, underscored the country's commitment to strengthening cooperation in maritime security and ocean economy—domains increasingly central to regional stability and Vietnamese prosperity. The forum's deliberations reflect growing recognition that Vietnam's development and security interests are inextricably linked to deeper integration with neighbouring economies and broader engagement with international institutions and partners.
