Deputy Prime Minister Ho Quoc Dung chaired a high-level meeting at Government headquarters on October 20 to assess progress on strategic technology development initiatives, underscoring the administration's determination to strengthen Vietnam's technological foundation.
The meeting reviewed implementation status across multiple priority areas, with participants examining how concentrated digital technology parks can serve as engines for economic growth and innovation. Officials discussed strategies to position Vietnam competitively in key technology sectors by leveraging clustering effects and infrastructure investment.
Vietnam is exploring lessons from European Union experience to establish quantum technology capacity, a move that reflects broader efforts to leapfrog into advanced technology domains rather than remaining dependent on existing industrial models. Quantum computing and related technologies are increasingly viewed as critical infrastructure for future competitiveness.
