General Secretary and President To Lam presided over the exchange of cooperation agreements between Vietnam and Denmark, marking a significant deepening of bilateral relations. The comprehensive strategic partnership represents an expanded commitment from both nations to work together across multiple sectors of mutual interest and benefit.
Under the new partnership framework, the two countries will intensify collaboration in economics and trade, with particular emphasis on investment opportunities and technology transfer. Science and innovation will serve as key pillars, alongside efforts to advance energy transition and the green economy—areas where Denmark's expertise in renewable energy and sustainability aligns with Vietnam's development priorities.
The partnership also encompasses cooperation in the marine economy, education and training, and people-to-people exchanges. These initiatives are designed to strengthen cultural ties and facilitate knowledge-sharing between Vietnamese and Danish institutions and communities.
The upgrade to comprehensive strategic partnership status reflects growing bilateral engagement and shared interests in addressing regional and global challenges. Vietnam and Denmark have identified cooperation on environmental protection and sustainable development as particularly important given the climate vulnerabilities facing Southeast Asia and the broader global context.
The business forum held alongside the diplomatic proceedings underscored the commercial dimension of enhanced ties, with participants exploring partnership opportunities in green technology, renewable energy, and other emerging sectors.
