Vietnam's National Assembly Vice President Nguyen Thi Hong has called for strengthened parliamentary cooperation with the Dominican Republic, outlining a comprehensive framework for advancing bilateral ties across multiple sectors.
The proposal focuses on intensifying exchanges at all governmental levels, with particular emphasis on maintaining regular contacts between legislative leaders and senior officials. Nguyen Thi Hong highlighted the importance of bolstering the effectiveness of existing parliamentary friendship groups, which serve as key channels for fostering people-to-people connections and institutional dialogue.
Beyond legislative engagement, the Vietnamese official stressed the need for greater sharing of legislative information and policy experience between the two nations' parliaments. This knowledge exchange is expected to support each country's governance and institutional development efforts.
Economic collaboration represents another crucial dimension of the proposed framework. Officials have identified opportunities to expand trade and investment partnerships, building on the solid foundation established through existing political and diplomatic relations. The emphasis on economic cooperation reflects both nations' commitment to translating political goodwill into tangible commercial benefits.
The initiative comes as Vietnam continues to strengthen its international relationships and raise its standing on the global stage, with parliamentary-level cooperation serving as a vital mechanism for deepening bilateral engagement across Asia and beyond.
