Vietnam and UAE deepen ties through third political consultation

Officials from both countries reviewed significant progress made in their bilateral relationship in recent years and outlined strategies to broaden cooperation in a more comprehensive and effective manner going forward.

The two nations agreed to prioritize deepening partnership to bolster each country's strategic autonomy and resilience while diversifying their respective international partnerships. The commitment reflects both nations' intent to navigate rapid global changes and heightened international uncertainty through strengthened regional ties.

The consultation produced several tangible outcomes, including a memorandum of understanding on defence industry cooperation, signaling Vietnam and the UAE's intention to expand security and military-industrial collaboration. Additionally, the two countries highlighted how the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement has opened pathways for Vietnamese goods to access UAE markets and expand further into the broader Middle East and African regions.

The third political consultation demonstrates the institutionalized nature of Vietnam-UAE relations, with regular high-level diplomatic engagements serving as a foundation for deepening ties across multiple sectors including defence, trade and economic development.
