Vietnam's Vice President engaged in substantive discussions with senior Azerbaijani officials, reaffirming the nations' long-standing partnership and mutual support across multiple domains. The Vietnamese leadership emphasised Hanoi's appreciation for Azerbaijan's critical assistance during Vietnam's struggle for national reunification and subsequent nation-building efforts.
Energy cooperation emerged as a cornerstone of bilateral relations, with Azerbaijan having played a pivotal role in developing Vietnam's oil and gas sector through personnel training and technical expertise. Vietnamese professionals and officials who have studied and worked in Azerbaijan have similarly contributed meaningfully to strengthening ties between the two countries.
Beyond traditional diplomatic channels, both nations are exploring expanded cooperation in tourism, defence, and cultural exchanges. Vietnam has introduced community-based tourism models at regional conferences attended by Azerbaijani counterparts, while defence discussions reflect growing security cooperation between Hanoi and Baku.
The talks signal both countries' intention to broaden their relationship into new areas while consolidating existing partnerships. Officials indicated that cultural cooperation initiatives would form an essential component of Vietnam-Azerbaijan relations moving forward, opening what both sides characterised as a new chapter in their historic bilateral engagement.
