Vietnam and Cambodia are intensifying efforts to preserve and promote their longstanding friendship through multiple cooperation channels, officials said. Friendship Monuments, whose construction was endorsed by leaders of both countries, serve as tangible symbols of their historic bonds and comprehensive partnership, according to Samdech Men Sam An, President of the SFDCM National Council.
The monuments commemorate the nations' mutual support in Cambodia's peace process and their broader strategic cooperation. Beyond these symbolic gestures, the two countries are actively expanding practical engagement across several key areas.
Youth exchange programs have become a focal point for strengthening people-to-people ties between Vietnam and Cambodia. These initiatives aim to foster understanding and goodwill among younger generations in both nations.
Border security cooperation has also been elevated, with police forces from both countries working to enhance coordination and address cross-border challenges. Additionally, Vietnam and Cambodia are pursuing deeper investment cooperation, seeking to translate their political friendship into concrete economic gains and business opportunities.
The multifaceted approach reflects both nations' determination to build on their shared history while advancing mutually beneficial development in the region.
