Vietnam charts digital economy expansion at Autumn Economic Forum 2026

Digital investment has emerged as a cornerstone of regional economic growth, with global funding in new digital projects nearly tripling since 2020, according to discussions at the Autumn Economic Forum 2026. The digital economy has sustained annual growth rates of 10–12% over several years, substantially outpacing traditional global GDP expansion and reshaping competitive dynamics across Southeast Asia.

Industrial digitalisation and cross-border digital services are expanding at accelerating speeds, creating both opportunities and challenges for regional economies. Vietnam's Deputy Prime Minister emphasised that the nation must fortify its domestic capabilities to effectively integrate into higher-value segments of global supply chains, capitalising on these emerging growth drivers.

The forum has catalysed substantive exchanges on cooperation frameworks suited to the contemporary economic landscape. Participants have prioritised green logistics infrastructure and advanced manufacturing capabilities as critical pillars for sustainable regional development. These discussions reflect a broader recognition that Asia-Pacific economies must balance rapid digitalisation with environmentally responsible growth strategies to unlock long-term prosperity.
