Vietnam, China deepen legislative ties as NA chief visits Beijing

Chinese state media outlets including Xinhua News Agency, China Central Television and People's Daily gave prominent coverage on October 12 to meetings between Vietnam's National Assembly President Tran Thanh Man and Premier Li Qiang at Beijing's Great Hall of the People.

The visit underscores deepening legislative ties between the two neighbouring countries as they seek to expand institutional cooperation beyond traditional bilateral channels. The discussions between Man and Li focused on parliamentary cooperation mechanisms and the exchange of legislative experience, according to reports from Chinese media organisations including Guangming Online.

During the visit, Man toured the Museum of the Communist Party of China, a symbolic gesture reflecting the historical relationship between Vietnam's Communist Party and its Chinese counterpart. Analysts noted that strengthened parliamentary connections are expected to play an increasingly important role in driving forward broader Vietnam-China relations.

Chinese scholars have characterized parliamentary cooperation as a key vehicle for advancing bilateral ties, suggesting that legislative exchanges complement economic and diplomatic engagement between Hanoi and Beijing. The visit represents part of ongoing efforts by both nations to maintain stable institutional relationships despite regional geopolitical complexities.
