Vietnam, China to deepen regional cooperation across multiple sectors

The meeting between Vietnam's top legislative official and the leader of China's Shaanxi province underscored both nations' commitment to expanding bilateral cooperation at the regional level. The Vietnamese National Assembly President proposed that Shaanxi and Vietnamese localities establish closer partnerships in science and technology, energy development, and high-tech agriculture—sectors critical to economic modernization in the region.

Transport infrastructure and logistics emerged as priority areas for collaboration, with particular emphasis on railway development and connectivity projects. Such initiatives could facilitate trade flows and people-to-people exchanges between the two countries, addressing shared infrastructure challenges across Southeast Asia and southern China.

Beyond economic cooperation, the Vietnamese leader highlighted the importance of workforce development and cultural exchange. Enhanced training programs for skilled workers and expanded tourism cooperation are expected to foster deeper understanding and strengthen social bonds between Vietnamese and Chinese communities.

The engagement represents a continuation of parliamentary diplomacy between Vietnam and China, with both nations' legislative bodies playing an active role in driving bilateral relations forward. Such high-level exchanges signal commitment to moving beyond traditional political channels and building substantive cooperation that benefits regional development and prosperity.
