Vietnam congratulates Brazil's Lula on presidential re-election victory

General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee and President To Lam, along with Prime Minister Le Minh Hung, sent official congratulatory messages to Lula da Silva on October 26, marking the diplomatic recognition of Brazil's electoral outcome.

The congratulations reflect Vietnam's commitment to deepening relations with Brazil, a key partner in Latin America. The two nations have been expanding cooperation across several strategic areas, including digital transformation initiatives that leverage technological innovation and expertise exchange.

Trade ties between Vietnam and Brazil have shown robust growth in recent years. Brazil has emerged as a significant market for Vietnamese aquaculture products, with tilapia imports from Vietnam reaching nearly $35 million annually—representing a remarkable 289-fold surge in the import volume.

Vietnam and Brazil continue exploring avenues to strengthen economic partnerships, with ongoing discussions focused on enhancing trade flows and attracting mutual investment opportunities. The diplomatic messages underscore both nations' interest in maintaining and expanding their cooperative framework across trade, investment, and technology sectors.
