Trade between Vietnam and Denmark accelerated significantly in the first eight months of 2026, with bilateral commerce reaching $609.47 million, according to official figures. The figure represents a substantial 37.5% increase compared to the same period in 2025, signalling robust momentum in economic relations between the Southeast Asian nation and the Nordic country.
Vietnamese exports to Denmark climbed to $346.81 million during the eight-month period, up 27.7% year-on-year. The gains reflect growing demand for Vietnamese products in the Danish market, spanning sectors including textiles, agricultural goods, and seafood. Concurrently, Vietnamese imports from Denmark totalled $262.66 million, representing a sharper 53% increase, as Vietnamese businesses increased purchases of Danish machinery, dairy products, and pharmaceutical goods.
The expansion in bilateral trade occurs amid a period of strengthened political engagement between Hanoi and Copenhagen. Observers have noted that high-level diplomatic initiatives are expected to further consolidate commercial ties and open new avenues for cooperation in emerging sectors including renewable energy and sustainable development.
The growth trajectory reflects both countries' commitment to deepening economic partnership, with Vietnamese enterprises increasingly integrating into European supply chains while Danish businesses expand their footprint in Vietnam's dynamic market.
