General Secretary and President To Lam was accorded a ceremonial reception in Copenhagen, where King Frederik X welcomed the Vietnamese leader and presented him with Denmark's highest-ranked honour. The visit underscored the strong diplomatic bonds between the two nations and provided an opportunity to advance mutual interests.
Both leaders expressed satisfaction with the trajectory of bilateral relations, particularly following the establishment of a Comprehensive Partnership in 2013 and a Green Strategic Partnership in 2023. The frameworks have enabled enhanced cooperation across multiple domains, with particular emphasis on sustainable development and climate action.
Economic engagement between the countries has expanded significantly, with major Danish corporations including LEGO, Pandora and Carlsberg establishing and scaling operations in Vietnam. These investments have yielded tangible benefits for Vietnam's socio-economic development, generating employment opportunities, facilitating technology transfer and supporting the nation's transition toward green growth.
During the visit, General Secretary and President To Lam laid a wreath at the Danish Heroes' Memorial, a gesture honouring historical connections between the nations. Officials from both sides highlighted the potential for further collaboration in emerging sectors and affirmed their commitment to deepening people-to-people exchanges and cultural partnerships.
