A Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister visited Tsinghua University this week as part of efforts to strengthen educational partnerships between Hanoi and Beijing, aligned with directives from leaders of both countries.
Tsinghua has emerged as a key institution in fostering Vietnam-China academic cooperation. The university enrolled 27 Vietnamese students and postgraduates in the past year—its highest intake to date—with all recipients receiving full scholarships. The institution has also deepened institutional ties across both nations' higher education sectors.
The university recently hosted the second Vietnam-China Higher Education Cooperation Forum, bringing together academic leaders from both countries to discuss collaboration opportunities and exchange best practices. The forum served as a platform to identify new areas for joint research, student mobility programs, and capacity-building initiatives.
The visit reflects growing momentum in Vietnam-China educational cooperation, following similar high-level engagements focused on legislative and people-to-people exchanges. Both nations have signaled intent to expand cooperation across multiple sectors, with education identified as a strategic priority for strengthening bilateral ties.
Tsinghua University, one of Asia's leading institutions, has positioned itself as a regional hub for international academic collaboration and graduate training.
