Vietnam's government has submitted a draft Law on Cultural Industries Development for consideration, signaling a strategic push to strengthen the nation's creative economy. The proposed legislation encompasses a broad framework designed to nurture sustainable growth across the cultural sector, according to official submissions to parliament.

The draft law targets seven key areas critical to industry expansion. These include the development of supportive ecosystems for cultural enterprises, mechanisms to foster creativity, and robust systems for establishing and valuing intellectual property rights—a cornerstone of creative industry competitiveness. The legislation also addresses human resources development and infrastructure requirements necessary for sector growth.

Additional provisions focus on market development, financing mechanisms, and investment incentives to attract both domestic and foreign capital to Vietnam's cultural industries. The comprehensive approach reflects government recognition of culture's economic potential and its role in employment generation and innovation.

The draft law is among dozens of legislative proposals being examined during the National Assembly's second session, as lawmakers continue efforts to modernize Vietnam's regulatory framework. The timing coincides with broader parliamentary discussions on foreign direct investment requirements, real estate sector reforms, and other economic development priorities.
