General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee and President To Lam dispatched a congratulatory message on November 3 to President Sylvanie Burton of the Commonwealth of Dominica, marking the island nation's 48th independence anniversary. Dominica gained independence on November 3, 1978, establishing itself as a sovereign nation in the Caribbean.

The message from Vietnam's top leadership reflects the country's commitment to maintaining friendly relations with nations across multiple continents and political systems. Vietnam has long maintained a policy of expanding diplomatic ties with countries worldwide, regardless of geographic proximity or ideological alignment.

The congratulations to Dominica add to a recent series of diplomatic gestures from Vietnamese leaders. In recent weeks, Vietnam has also extended greetings on Algeria's 72nd National Day and acknowledged the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations with the Solomon Islands, demonstrating active engagement in international affairs.

These diplomatic overtures illustrate Vietnam's consistent approach to strengthening bilateral relationships through official recognition of significant national occasions. Such gestures, while ceremonial in nature, serve to reinforce diplomatic channels and demonstrate respect for partner nations' sovereignty and historical milestones.
