Retail petrol prices in Vietnam have fallen to new lows while diesel costs continue their upward trajectory. The latest adjustment reflects ongoing volatility in regional fuel markets.

E5 RON92 petrol prices declined by 1,610 VND per litre in the most recent revision, settling at 25,361 VND (approximately 0.98 USD) per litre. Premium E10 RON95-III petrol saw an even steeper reduction of 1,816 VND, bringing its price to 25,213 VND per litre.

The price adjustments, which took effect at 15:00 on October 15, mark the latest fluctuations in Vietnam's volatile fuel market. Recent months have seen mixed trends, with petrol prices falling during an August adjustment but diesel costs rising during the same period.

The divergence between petrol and diesel pricing reflects differing supply and demand pressures in international markets. Analysts point to global crude oil dynamics and regional refining capacity as key factors influencing Vietnam's retail fuel costs.

Vietnam's fuel pricing mechanism allows for periodic adjustments based on international market conditions, with the government setting retail caps to maintain stability for consumers and businesses. The continued fluctuations underscore the impact of global energy markets on domestic fuel availability and affordability.
