Vietnam highlights socialist path, party cooperation at Mexico conference

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Phuc Lam, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Vice President of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, addressed delegates at the international conference themed "Political parties and a new society" held October 6-8 in Mexico City.

Lam briefed participants on Vietnam's socio-economic development trajectory and its approach to building socialism, underscoring Hanoi's commitment to fostering dialogue among progressive political movements globally. The presentation reflected Vietnam's broader diplomatic strategy of strengthening ties with ruling and opposition parties worldwide.

The conference served as a platform for Vietnamese officials to showcase the country's political model and development achievements to an international audience of political leaders and analysts. Vietnam has increasingly focused on party-to-party diplomacy as a complement to traditional state-to-state relations across the region and beyond.

The visit also highlighted Vietnam's expanding engagement with Mexico across multiple sectors. Recent months have seen Vietnamese and Mexican officials discuss enhanced parliamentary cooperation, expanded energy and port sector collaboration, and media partnerships, including a joint publishing initiative between Vietnam News Agency and Mexico's Labour Party.
