Vietnam's Ministry of Public Security has called on India's National Security Council to facilitate negotiations between Indian law enforcement bodies and Vietnamese authorities to formalize security cooperation arrangements.

The Vietnamese ministry has proposed two key instruments to strengthen bilateral ties: a memorandum of understanding focused on personnel training and capacity building, and a comprehensive agreement on joint efforts to combat transnational crime. These documents would be signed between the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security and India's Ministry of Home Affairs.

The initiative reflects growing security concerns across the South and Southeast Asian region and the two nations' commitment to addressing cross-border criminal activities through coordinated institutional frameworks. Enhanced personnel exchanges and training programs are expected to improve operational capabilities of both countries' law enforcement agencies.

The proposed agreements represent part of a broader expansion of Vietnam-India relations, which have seen increased cooperation across multiple sectors including technology innovation, business development, and community engagement. Strengthening the security partnership is viewed as integral to building a comprehensive strategic relationship between the two countries.
