The cooperation will be guided by the senior leadership of both the Communist Party and governments of Vietnam and Laos, General Quang said during a meeting with a senior Lao party official.
The statement reflects Vietnam's longstanding policy of prioritizing relations with its neighboring country. Senior Vietnamese leaders have consistently emphasized that strengthening ties with Laos remains a cornerstone of Vietnam's foreign policy.
Public security cooperation between Hanoi and Vientiane covers law enforcement, border management, and combating transnational crime. The partnership forms part of broader efforts to consolidate the traditional friendship and comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries.
