Vietnam nears US trade deal as tariff pressure mounts, denies sanctions evasion

Vietnamese officials signaled that a comprehensive trade agreement with the United States is within reach, even as negotiations continue under the shadow of potential new tariffs. The statement represents the latest development in ongoing discussions aimed at addressing longstanding commercial disputes between Hanoi and Washington.

In a pointed rebuttal, Vietnamese leaders denied allegations that the country serves as a transshipment point for Chinese goods seeking to avoid American tariffs.
