Dr Nissan Maskil said Vietnam should prioritize developing its human resources and research infrastructure as foundational elements for mastering quantum technology. Creating a robust ecosystem will enable the nation to build the technical capabilities necessary to advance in this rapidly evolving field.
Maskil stressed that Vietnam must balance theoretical research with practical implementation, gradually integrating quantum technologies into real-world applications while working toward commercial viability. This phased approach would allow the country to develop expertise and industrial capacity in tandem.
The emphasis on building a comprehensive national framework reflects broader regional efforts to develop quantum capabilities. Vietnam has been actively strengthening international partnerships, including a recent cooperation roadmap with Russia, as part of its strategy to develop quantum technology expertise.
Experts across the region have highlighted that a long-term vision is critical for quantum technology development. Countries that invest early in workforce development and research infrastructure are positioning themselves to benefit from quantum advances expected to reshape computing, communications, and security sectors in coming decades.
