Vietnam, Panama seal cooperation pacts as leaders meet

General Secretary and President To Lam hosted a formal welcome ceremony for Panama President José Raúl Mulino, during which the two nations formalized their expanding partnership through multiple cooperation documents. The agreements underscore growing diplomatic ties between the Southeast Asian nation and the Central American country. The signed documents include an accord on maritime transport cooperation between the two governments, reflecting the strategic importance of shipping corridors to both nations. Vietnam and Panama also concluded an agreement focused on combating transnational crime, addressing shared security concerns in the region and beyond. Agricultural cooperation was formalized through a memorandum of understanding, opening new avenues for trade and knowledge exchange in the farming sector. The tourism sector received equal attention with the signing of a tourism cooperation MoU between Vietnam's National Authority of Tourism and Panama's Tourism Authority, aimed at promoting bilateral visitor flows and cultural exchange.
