Prime Minister Le Minh Hung received Wouter van Wersch, President of Airbus International, in Hanoi on November 4, reaffirming the government's commitment to supporting the European aerospace manufacturer's expansion plans in the country. The reception underscored Vietnam's strategic focus on developing its aviation sector and attracting investment from global industry leaders.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister pledged to establish optimal conditions for Airbus to deepen its presence and operations across Vietnam. The commitment reflects Hanoi's broader efforts to modernize its aviation infrastructure and support the growth of domestic carriers.

The pledge aligns with ongoing fleet expansion initiatives by Vietnam's carriers. Vietnam Airlines has announced plans to add two additional Airbus aircraft to its fleet, while low-cost carrier Vietravel Airlines recently introduced an Airbus A321 into service. These additions represent part of a wider trend toward fleet modernization across the nation's aviation sector.

Airbus, one of the world's leading aerospace corporations, has maintained a significant presence in Vietnam through aircraft deliveries and maintenance operations. The company's expansion in the market reflects growing air travel demand across Southeast Asia and Vietnam's emergence as a key aviation hub in the region.
