Vietnam PM charts deeper ties with Cambodia through expanded cooperation

Vietnam and Cambodia have committed to advancing their partnership in a new phase of relations, with both sides pledging to maximize cooperation mechanisms operating between the two countries. The commitment emerged from discussions between Prime Minister Le Minh Hung and Cambodian counterparts, including the leader of the Cambodian People's Party and the Senate leadership.

The two sides identified party-to-party exchanges as a key avenue for strengthening ties, alongside increased engagement between youth representatives from both nations. Such people-to-people diplomacy is expected to deepen mutual understanding and foster long-term connections between Vietnamese and Cambodian societies.

Beyond political channels, the leaders agreed to expand cooperation spanning the legislative, executive and judicial branches of both governments. They also committed to enhancing collaboration between people's organisations and local authorities, recognizing that regional and grassroots-level engagement can drive sustainable development and integration.

The discussions reflect Vietnam's broader engagement strategy in Southeast Asia, as the nation continues to prioritize strengthening partnerships with neighboring states. The emphasis on multi-layered cooperation underscores both countries' commitment to addressing shared challenges and pursuing mutual prosperity in the region.
