Vietnam's Prime Minister Le Minh Hung visited Star Telecom, operating under the Unitel brand, in Vientiane on October 9 as part of his official state visit to Laos. The telecommunications company is a joint venture between Vietnam's Viettel Military Industry and Telecoms Group and Lao Asia Telecom, serving as a key player in Laos' expanding digital infrastructure.
During the visit, PM Le Minh Hung acknowledged Unitel's leading position in telecommunications and digital technology services across Laos. The company has emerged as a significant contributor to the country's broader digital transformation agenda, supporting connectivity and technology adoption in the Southeast Asian nation.
