Vietnam PM pushes rapid rollout of $30.7 billion national development programme

The Prime Minister stressed the importance of coordinated policies and unified action across government agencies to deliver the 30.7-billion-USD programme without unnecessary delays. Speaking at a national conference on implementation, Le Minh Hung underscored the need to place people at the centre of the initiative, ensuring they participate meaningfully in development efforts rather than simply receiving assistance.

A key priority outlined by the government is eliminating fragmentation and duplication across overlapping programmes while maintaining policy continuity during administrative transitions. Officials have been instructed to maintain steady progress on implementation tasks to prevent disruptions that could delay benefits reaching communities.

The National Assembly previously approved the comprehensive multi-sector programme aimed at advancing cultural development, improving social services, and strengthening rural infrastructure across the country. Prime Minister Le Minh Hung has now directed relevant ministries and local authorities to ensure full disbursement of allocated funds during 2026, marking an acceleration of the programme's execution timeline.

The initiative reflects the government's commitment to integrated development that addresses interconnected challenges in culture, society and rural areas through coordinated rather than siloed interventions.
