Vietnam PM to engage youth on startups and innovation drive

Prime Minister Le Minh Hung is scheduled to hold a dialogue with young people in Hanoi on October 15, addressing key issues affecting Vietnam's youth workforce and entrepreneurial landscape. The discussion will encompass employment policies, human resource training programmes, and support mechanisms for startup ventures, reflecting government priorities in nurturing innovation among the younger generation.

The engagement comes as Vietnam's startup ecosystem continues to gain traction internationally, with increasing recognition of the country's potential in technology and digital innovation. Youth participation in entrepreneurship and technological advancement has become central to Vietnam's economic development strategy, particularly as the nation seeks to transition toward a knowledge-based economy.

The dialogue represents part of broader initiatives to mobilise young people's contributions to national development. Recent Youth Month activities have demonstrated significant grassroots engagement, with over 5.6 million young people participating in volunteer programmes nationwide. Additionally, the government has recognised outstanding youth union officials through the Ly Tu Trong Award 2026, highlighting the role of youth leadership in driving social and economic progress.

The October 15 meeting will provide a platform for direct exchange between government leadership and young Vietnamese on critical areas including employment opportunities, skills development for emerging sectors, and pathways for entrepreneurial ventures. Such engagement reflects the administration's focus on empowering youth to drive innovation and digital transformation across the economy.
