Vietnam PM urges nationals in Laos to uphold special bilateral ties

During recent engagements in Vientiane, PM Le Minh Hung stressed the importance of Vietnamese communities in Laos serving as cultural ambassadors for the two countries' enduring relationship. He encouraged nationals to respect local laws and customs while fostering mutual understanding between the Vietnamese and Lao peoples.

The Prime Minister emphasized the need to educate younger generations about Vietnam's historical ties with Laos and the foundations of their special relationship. This generational transmission of shared values and history is essential to strengthening people-to-people connections that underpin official state relations, he noted.

Le Minh Hung characterized Laos as a nation in dynamic transition, presenting emerging economic and development opportunities for bilateral cooperation. The remarks reflect Vietnam's broader strategy to deepen comprehensive engagement with its western neighbor through institutional ties, trade partnerships, and grassroots community initiatives.

The bilateral relationship has historically rested on mutual support during critical periods and shared revolutionary heritage. Contemporary cooperation now extends across multiple sectors, with both governments committed to advancing their framework of great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive strategic cohesion.
