Vietnamese filmmakers are returning to Tokyo International Film Festival's TIFFCOM marketplace to showcase projects and filming locations to a global audience of producers, distributors and industry professionals.
The Vietnam Film Producers Association (VFDA) operates a dedicated pavilion at the annual event, serving as a meeting point for Vietnamese creators and foreign partners seeking collaboration opportunities. The initiative aims to facilitate co-production deals, distribution arrangements, and location scouting for international productions interested in filming in Vietnam.
The outreach effort reflects growing momentum for Vietnamese cinema on the international stage. Five Vietnamese films were selected for the 31st Busan International Film Festival, while a domestic production garnered multiple awards at the 25th International Istanbul Independent Film Festival. Additionally, the Vietnam International Film Festival in Hanoi, now in its eighth edition, is positioning the capital as a regional hub for film cooperation and industry networking.
The VFDA's participation at TIFFCOM underscores Vietnam's commitment to strengthening ties with Asia-Pacific film industries and establishing the country as an attractive destination for international film production and investment.
