Vietnam is accelerating efforts to bridge the gap between scientific research and practical implementation of green technologies, as demonstrated by the 18th Asia-Pacific Roundtable on Sustainable Consumption and Production held in Ho Chi Minh City on October 26.
The event, part of the Autumn Economic Forum 2026, convened regional experts and policymakers to identify mechanisms for converting bilateral technology agreements into actionable solutions. A parallel Vietnam-India Future Technology Forum emphasized deepening cooperation between the two nations on digital and environmental challenges.
Organizers highlighted the critical role of strengthening links between scientific institutions and industry in driving Vietnam's green transition. The forums specifically explored applications in sustainable agriculture, a sector of particular importance to the region's economic development.
Official discussions centered on how international partnerships and technology-sharing arrangements can accelerate the adoption of cleaner production methods and sustainable practices across Southeast Asia. Participants emphasized that coordinating regional efforts on green technology deployment remains essential to achieving broader sustainable development goals.
