Vietnam attracted $46.86 billion in foreign direct investment during the first ten months of the year, combining newly registered capital and additional investment commitments. The figure represents the most robust growth trajectory in foreign investment since 2009, underscoring the country's continued appeal to international capital amid shifting global supply chains.

Manufacturing and processing sectors dominated investment flows, accounting for $24.19 billion or 51.6 percent of total FDI inflows. Real estate development followed as the second-largest recipient sector, drawing $7.08 billion equivalent to 15.1 percent of inflows. The sectoral distribution reflects Vietnam's positioning as a preferred manufacturing hub for multinational enterprises seeking alternatives to established Asian production centers.

Policymakers have emphasized the importance of targeted, outcomes-focused support mechanisms to sustain and accelerate foreign investment growth. Government efforts to streamline land acquisition procedures and reduce administrative barriers have been credited with facilitating investor confidence. These institutional improvements aim to attract next-generation foreign direct investment in higher-value manufacturing and technology-intensive sectors.

The robust FDI performance has provided substantial impetus to Vietnam's economic expansion, strengthening foreign exchange reserves and creating employment opportunities across manufacturing and service industries. Sustained foreign investment inflows remain critical to supporting the country's development objectives and regional economic integration.
