Vietnam registers nearly 150,000 new enterprises in first nine months

Vietnam's business landscape expanded robustly during the nine-month period ending September 2026, as enterprise registrations reached 149,700 nationwide—representing a 3.2% increase compared to the same period in 2025. The expansion underscored steady momentum in the country's private sector as new ventures continued to emerge across diverse industries.

Total registered capital for newly established enterprises climbed to 1.884 quadrillion VND, marking a substantial 32.7% year-on-year surge that outpaced the growth in enterprise numbers. The divergence signaled that incoming businesses were launching with increasingly substantial financial commitments, suggesting greater market confidence and larger-scale operations among new entrants.

Average registered capital per new enterprise reached 12.6 billion VND, up 28.5% from the previous year's comparable period. This metric demonstrated that entrepreneurs were establishing ventures with greater initial investment, potentially reflecting confidence in market conditions and expectations for expanded business operations.

The registration figures align with government initiatives to support private enterprise development, including recent policy frameworks designed to accelerate technological adoption and streamline business formation. Vietnam's growing startup ecosystem and supportive regulatory environment continued to attract entrepreneurs seeking opportunities in the region's increasingly dynamic economy.
