General Secretary and President To Lam has instructed the Central Council for Theoretical Studies to strengthen its core role in providing strategic guidance to party and state leadership. The council must develop a more comprehensive understanding of national objectives and conduct thorough examination of its theoretical frameworks, according to party statements.
To Lam emphasized that the council should conduct a candid assessment of current limitations in its theoretical work and clearly delineate its research and advisory responsibilities. This recalibration is intended to enable the institution to concentrate its efforts on addressing pressing policy issues confronting Vietnam.
The directive reflects the Communist Party's broader effort to enhance the quality of policy analysis and strategic planning mechanisms.
