Vietnam's economic performance in the first ten months of the year reflects sustained momentum in international trade, with exports and overall commerce significantly outpacing prior-year figures. The Ministry of Industry and Trade reported that total bilateral and multilateral trade reached approximately 1.01 trillion USD, marking a substantial 32.3 percent increase compared to the same period last year.
Export activity has been a particular bright spot, with Vietnamese shipments abroad reaching an estimated 499 billion USD during the ten-month period. The 27.4 percent year-on-year growth in exports underscores the country's competitive position in global markets and the resilience of its manufacturing and production sectors.
The strong trade performance comes as regional authorities intensify efforts to attract and retain foreign direct investment. Hai Phong has introduced a new "socialist trade union" model at two major foreign-invested enterprises, while Nghe An province continues to pursue high-quality FDI projects. Da Nang has similarly focused on bolstering FDI attraction to support industrial expansion, reflecting a broader regional strategy to leverage foreign investment for sustainable economic growth.
These combined developments suggest Vietnam's export-oriented economy is well-positioned to maintain growth momentum through the remainder of the year, provided global trade conditions remain supportive.
