Vietnam's EU visit signals deepening strategic partnership, says ambassador

Vietnam's position as the EU's most substantial trading partner among ASEAN nations represents a notable achievement in regional economic relations, according to Ambassador Guerrier. The country's ranking as the bloc's 16th largest trading partner worldwide demonstrates the scale of commercial engagement between Hanoi and Brussels.

Despite these accomplishments, considerable untapped potential remains for expanding bilateral trade and investment cooperation between Vietnam and the EU. Guerrier emphasized that both sides stand to benefit from deepened economic partnership and increased commercial collaboration across multiple sectors.

The high-level Vietnamese delegation's visit to Europe comes as the two sides strengthen institutional cooperation mechanisms. Vietnam and the EU have elevated diplomatic relations with Denmark and Belgium, while also establishing frameworks for enhanced tax cooperation. The seventh meeting of the Vietnam-EU Joint Committee reflected the two sides' commitment to advancing their comprehensive partnership across political, economic, and cultural domains.
